It has been another busy month here at iOps360. Many agencies have been inquiring about RFID tracking of equipment and inventory items. We are pleased to announce that are currently implementing this into iOps360 to allow real time tracking using a handheld reader and/or fixed readers in your apparatus and inventory rooms. You will start seeing these in iOps360 along with app updates as we begin the testing process. We are working with several suppliers to provide you with the most cost effective solution as each agency will have custom needs. Learn more at https://iops360.comrfid-uhf-tracking/

Each month we make changes based on your feedback and ideas. Here’s a few of the bigger changes we have made since last month to help improve iOps360 for your agency:

  1. App Updates – Several app updates are rolling out to allow for special characters in the work order areas and improved resource file handling with some iOS devices.
  2. Communications Portal – We now have a dedicated login/password for your communications staff. This allows them to log in and see staffing, user contact information, and vehicle assignments. Many agencies were creating a user account for the communications centers to see staffing and this new portal ensures you are not charged for an un-needed user account. See System Config -> General tab -> Communications/Dispatch Logins for more information.
  3. Custom Reminders For Classes – You can now add a custom reminder to any class instance. This is useful to remind staff to bring specific items like pretests, parking instructions and just a general reminder to not forget the class. Edit any class and enable Class Reminder to set the reminder message and date to send
  4. Education Classes – You can now define the specific class dates such as every Tuesday and Thursday instead of every day between the class start and class end. This will allow staff to sign up for classes that the dates are not sequential and show the class shifts accurately on the schedule.
  5. Inventory Orders – You can now receive more items than ordered and search by a specific item. From the inventory item view page, you can see all orders that item was referenced on.
  6. Open Shifts – Added a setting on each Unit/Position to exclude open shifts from the Day/Week/Month views. This is useful if you have open shifts for interns/candidates etc. to sign up for but do not want these to show with the Open Shifts Filter
  7. Schedule Views – Added a base/station filter to the time off requests so staff can see who is off and submit time off requests as needed.
  8. SMS/Texting – We will be stopping the SMS/texting notifications of iOps360 in favor of app notifications. These allow easier confirmation, longer content and a better user experience. Estimated date is July 1, 2023.
  9. Surveys – Previously the surveys would be available to all staff if no user roles were selected. This has changed to require a user role or specific users so that you can send a survey to only specific people if needed. Ie Post Class survey
  10. Resources – Added text search blocks on the Resource Search page and also inside the specific resource to find resources quicker.

Keep the great ideas coming and Thank you for all that you do to keep our communities safe!
