iOps360 can authenticate computers that are allowed to Time Stamp In/Out in several ways: IP Address, GPS GeoFence and now Browser Fingerprints.
Browser Fingerprints
A browser fingerprint is a way to identify a computer based on 39 identifiers such as canvas fingerprinting, audio sampling, WebGL fingerprinting, font detection and browser plugin probing. When combined, these details can create an identifier that can be used to allow/disallow time clock access. This can be used when computers do not have static IP addresses.
Browser Fingerprint Setup
A browser fingerprint can be created for each computer that you want Time Clock access for. Each computer will need to be authenticated individually, even if they are the same type of computer.
- Click on “Features” and then “System Config“.
- Select the “Time Clock” tab.
- Click “Computer Hardware“.
- Click “Authorize This Computer“.
- Enter the computer Base/Station and Name
Time Stamp In/Out Procedure
iOps360 will automatically check for a recognized IP Address and also if any Geofences exist. If none are found, we will check for the Browser Fingerprint. This is done last, since it is the slowest method of detection. Once the browser fingerprint check is complete, users will be able to time stamp in/out in the same manner as with a static IP Address.
- Click on “Schedule” and “Time Stamps & Time Cards“
- Record Time Stamp will be grayed out until the browser fingerprint detection is completed (1-2 seconds).
- Click on “Record Time Stamp” and enter any required information.
- Click “Record Time Stamp“.
