Time Clock are allowed/dis-allowed through designated IP addresses.

This method is not a full-proof method of verifying users locations as IP addresses can easily be tricked or “spoofed”.  This does not replace due diligence on the system’s behalf to ensure compliance with necessary procedures.

IP Address can be “static” (never changing) or “dynamic” (assigned by your internet service provider as needed).  If your system uses static IP addresses then Time Stamp access points may be a great asset to your service.  If your system does not use static IP addresses then you can either 1.) request static IP from your internet service provider or 2.) update the Time Stamp Access Points in the scheduler as they update.

Dynamic IP Addresses typically will change during power outages and new equipment being installed at your facilities. (Not very frequent).

To Add or Remove a Time Clock Access Point:

  1. Click on “Features” -> “System Configuration” -> “Time Clock Access Points”.
  2. Click “Create a New Time Clock Access Point” and enter the IP address and location name.
  3. The scheduler will pre-fill your current IP address into the form.  If you want to add an IP address at a location you are not logged in from, then have a user log in from that base/location and copy the IP address from the System Log.
  4. Click “Create New Time Clock Access Point”.

Time Clock Access Points support both IPv4 and IPv6 formats.
