iOps360 Inventory Kiosk EMS Police Fire

The Inventory Kiosk mode allows you to create a dedicated login specifically for Inventory Item removal. From the main website, staff can login and remove items from the inventory but the Kiosk mode reduces the time it takes for staff to update the inventory by staying logged in and allow for quick scanning of the user’s badge and items removed.

Workflow

The Inventory Kiosk is best placed on a computer or tablet inside the inventory locations. Users will enter their OCA or Chart Number and select the inventory location for removal. Next, staff can scan their badge to identify themselves and scan each item that is to be removed. The workflow on the left will easily guide users on each step.

If several items need to be removed, users will scan the item each time to increase the quantity. Items may exist with multiple expiration dates. In this case, users will see the available expiration dates and select from the choices to save time.

Once all items have been scanned, users will click Complete Removal and the inventory will be updated.

Creating Kiosk Logins

Admin staff can create one or more Inventory Kiosk Logins. Click “Features” and enter the “System Config“. On the “Inventory” tab, click “Inventory Kiosk [Logins]”. Follow the prompts to create the login and password.

Once created, log out and enter the Login and Password created above. This login will stay logged in and will not auto log out.

Hardware

The Inventory Kiosk can run on any internet browser. Chrome is the preferred and iOps360 supports all iOS and Android platforms also. Bar-code scanning is accomplished with any bar-code reader that supports the Employee Id type on your staff badges. iOps360 uses “code128” bar-codes and can support almost any standard formats. If you agency is using PDF417 (similar to a narrow qr code), be sure to buy a bar code reader that supports this type. Normal bar-code readers run $25-$100 for wired usb readers with PDF417 being slightly more.
